Why Trails Above?

About ten years ago I set myself a goal: hike every peak in Liechtenstein. It took me a whole summer. That journey gave me an unusually detailed knowledge of these mountains: the routes that are worth doing, the ones that aren't, the hidden gems that barely anyone knows about, and the summit views that make the whole thing worthwhile.

Trails Above is how I share that knowledge. Every guide here comes from time spent on these trails, not from a map or a guidebook. The goal is simple: give you the kind of information that actually helps on the day.

Stay tuned — in summer 2026 a much bigger project launches. Maybe even a Liechtenstein first.

The Focus

Liechtenstein and the mountains close to it — the Rätikon, the Rhine Valley peaks, the Swiss and Austrian border country within a short drive. There's plenty to cover before going further.
